exam has. In 2016 over 35 Lakh candidates apply for this exam and in 2017, it
is expected that more than 40 Lakh candidates may appear for this exam, thereby
making it one of the most competitive exams in India, next only to Railway
Exams and IBPS Exams.
The competitiveness of this exam can
be judged by the fact that with every passing year, there is significant
increase in the Cut offs. In the last 5 years, Cut offs for CGL Exam has seen

The Notification for SSC CGL 2017 Exam
is expected to be announced 11th March, 2017. However, the tentative schedule
of CGL 2017 will be known, once the SSC Exam Calendar for 2017-18 Examinations,
will be be announced. In the month of October, 2017, SSC had announced the
Tentative Schedule of Exams to be conducted in 2017-18.
As per this tentative Schedule, CGL
Tier-1 Exams, will be conducted from 19th June to 2nd July, 2017.So, that
means, you still have 4 months in hand to prepare for CGL 2017 Exam.

Pattern and Scheme of SSC CGL exam and these changes, will remain intact for CGL-2017

SSC CGL Tier I Exam Pattern
Tier-1 is the First stage of CGL Exam and all those who have successfully submitted their applications for CGL-2017 Exam, will have to appear in the Tier-1 stage.
1) Tier-1 is to be conducted through online mode ie It is a computer based Exam.
2) The No. of Questions in Tier-1 Exam is 100, with each Question carrying 2 marks, which means Tier-1 carries an overall weightage of 200 Marks and Duration of this exam is 1 Hour only.
3) There is negative marking of 0.50 marks for every wrong answer.
Syllabus : The Syllabus for CGL 2017 Tier-1 comprises of 100 Questions, with 25 Questions from each of the 4 Sections given below
1) Tier-1 is to be conducted through online mode ie It is a computer based Exam.
