🔷The new symbol of Indian rupee came into use on 15th July, 2010.
🔷It is an amalgamation of Devanagari 'Ra' and the Roman 'R' without stem.
🔷India is the fifth country (after America, Britain, Japan and Europe) to accept a unique currency symbol.
